How to pick the right Junior Golf Set for your Child

Golf is a great game for kids to play. It teaches patience, discipline, integrity, and honesty while building character. Golf is a game that can be played for life.

Unfortunately, golf can also be expensive. You have to pay green fees to play on a course. You need balls which can be expensive. And especially, you need clubs.

Junior golf clubs come in a variety of brands from the moderately cheap (about $49 a set) to the rather expensive ($250 a set). The more expensive sets are usually the name brand golf sets made for kids. Also, the sets made for older kids usually have more clubs and are therefore more expensive. Starter golf sets for children under 5 are usually the least expensive.

Size Matters With Youth Golf Clubs

The most important thing to pay attention to when buying a children's golf set is the size of the clubs and the height of your child. Most junior golf sets come with age and height guidelines. The age guidelines are the easiest to use since you already know how old your child is. But unless you've taken them to the doctor recently, you will probably need to measure them to determine how tall they are.

But take that 2 minutes to do it. Your child's height is more important than age. Golf clubs that don't fit your child will cause poor swing habits that can ruin their game and may be hard to alter later on. As long as your child is somewhere within the given range of height for a particular set of junior golf clubs, you should be safe. If your child is within one inch from the next largest size, it is okay to purchase that nxt size up. That should keep them in clubs for at least 2 or 3 years and save you a little extra money.

golf sets - I'm not super familiar with the rhinoceros brand, but kids can play with most any brand as long as the shaft is the right length. That being said, there are design advantages that can help a child play much better. My favorite is the US Kids brand, simply because they specialize in children's golf clubs, do a lot of R&D on it and have come up with optimal shaft weight, flex and head weight for the slower swing speed of kids still going through muscle development.
